Infant Teething – Teething Tips to Help Relieve Your Baby With Teething Pain

Infant Teething Can be a Tough Time For Parents

Infant teething can be a trying time for parents, especially when they do not know that is what may be going on with their baby. You won’t know your baby is teething until it starts to happen. Even then, you may not be entirely sure what is going on. You can read about when do babies start teething and what you can look for, but every baby is different. At times, you may not know what is making your baby so cranky until that first tooth pops out. But, when it comes to infant teething, I think every parent figures out what to do very quickly to keep the baby teething pain to a minimum and their baby feeling good while those teeth pop out through the gums.

When Does Infant Teething Start?

You may read that infant teething starts around six months. The problem with this is that all babies start at a different time. Some babies start teething around three months. There have even been rare cases when some babies are born with teeth already coming through. Some say that preemies start late (even with age adjustment) but that is not always true. Your baby is going to start going through babies teething when the time is right for them. Knowing that there is no exact teething time line to start watching for, this can help you find real teething sooner. You may miss the teething signs if you assume that it is just too soon for teething pain to be a problem.

Signs of Infant Teething

Some babies get a slight baby fever when they start going through infant teething. They may hold their hands to their mouth because of the pain, and may even refuse to eat or suck on a bottle. If you think that the signs of teething may be starting with your child, look for swelling of the gums and a teething fever that comes with no other symptoms of sickness. In some instances you can see the tooth just below the gum before it comes out. If your baby is biting down on things, this could be because that pressure actually helps with the teething pain. Front teeth hurt less than molars when coming through the gums, but they still hurt.

For the most part, babies get front bottom teeth first, then the top two. However, that does not mean that this is what is going to happen with your child. Some children get the top teeth first, and still others get side teeth or molars first. While that is rare, it has been known to happen. Infant teething can happen in areas where you are not looking. If you suspect teething symptoms, but do not feel anything where you think teeth are supposed to come first, check the rest of the mouth. Your baby may surprise you by popping a tooth somewhere unexpected.

If your baby is going through infant teething, here are a few teething tips that can help your baby with some teething relief. There are topical gels, such as baby orajel, that numb the area, though the results are temporary. You can talk to your doctor to see if it would be appropriate to give your baby pain reliever if the pain seems to be severe. You can also give them teething rings. Those that go into the freezer first often work best as the cold helps numb the pain. Baby teething pain will come and go, so have what you need ready for when baby needs pain relief fast.

There are more couples looking at adopting a baby out there than there are babies for adoption. To compound the problem, most want to have a baby that is just like them. This makes it harder to find a match. Parents have a right to request what they want in a baby, but that does not mean they are going to get special treatment. It just means in many case that they may have to wait longer on adopting a child. The waiting alone, not to mention the adoption cost, can be very painful for parents whether they have special requests or if they just want a baby – any baby.

Waiting for babies for adoption to come up is hard enough, but add to it the chances that you may not get that baby. Those wishing to adopt a child sometimes have to wait years for adoption babies to come up that they may have a chance to have. Even then, they often have to meet the birth mother and meet her approval before they will be offered the child. Also, the adoption costs are usually high because they often have to pay for medical bills and other expenses the mother incurs as a result of the pregnancy. This might seem like the finish line, but sadly that is not always the case.

Birth mothers have up until they give birth to change their mind. They even have some time after the baby is born to decide if they would like to keep their child or give the child for adoption. If the father was involved, he may change his mind too. The adoption process can get very complicated with babies for adoption and hearts are often broken. Some couples have been promised a baby for adoption, but end up losing them time and time again. If a couple can not work their way through that type of pain, it could be difficult for them to recover.

If you thinking of starting or adding to your family by looking for babies for adoption, start out your journey by seeing a therapist. You may think it is unnecessary, but you want to have a safe place to talk when there are the inevitable setbacks. This helps keep your marriage strong so you do not take your stresses out on each other. A good therapist will help you through the adoption process and will be valuable until you have a tiny baby in your arms to call your own. You may even want to keep them around for the first few months to help you deal with the challenges of parenthood. Common Symptoms of Baby Acid Reflux

Baby Acid Reflux is a Medical Condition

Baby acid reflux is a medical condition, which is aptly defined as the condition that allows food eaten earlier by the baby and stomach acid to surge back up into the baby’s esophagus. This usually happens to the baby before their digestive system stabilizes and functions as it should. In a person’s body (babies included), there are muscles at the lower side of the esophagus that allows the food to enter the stomach after swallowing. These muscles usually close after food passage and only open when gas (often air swallowed with food) is being released. They are known as the lower esophageal sphincter. In young babies, the muscles may let out the gas in addition to food contents swallowed earlier. The contents then flow back into the baby’s esophagus and into the mouth. Most babies spit up the contents. Parents may mistake this as the baby vomiting, although most of them refer to this condition simply as spitting up, when in fact it could be due to baby acid reflux.

Severe Baby Acid Reflux May Cause Poor Eating Habits

Babies with severe baby acid reflux may have poor feeding habits, which affect their weight gain. In some cases, the baby may even loose weight. The baby may also be diagnosed with conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, wheezing and pneumonia. Acid reflux babies with the condition may also have excessive drooling, and may frequently develop sinus or ear infections. When the baby cries, the parent may notice that the baby’s voice is hoarse.

In most cases, infant reflux occurs minutes after the baby is fed. However, this may also happen with a crying baby or one that coughs or strains. This baby reflux condition is very common as most babies experience it in the first three months of life. However, the acid reflux in babies usually disappears when the baby is between twelve and eighteen months of age. In some few cases, medical intervention may be required.

Baby Acid Reflux Symptoms

Treatment for baby acid reflux should only be sought when the symptoms are severe, therefore posing a risk to the baby’s development. Some of the infant reflux symptoms that parents should be on the look out for include a frequently spitting up baby, frequent baby vomiting, a constant baby crying, the baby arching backwards while being fed, frequent hiccups, frequent coughing, bad breath, poor sleeping habits and irritability. In more severe cases of baby reflux, the baby may have difficulty swallowing food and may be diagnosed with a sore throat.

The treatment of baby acid reflux varies with the severity of the condition. In most cases, pediatrician’s advice parents to follow some simple baby feeding directives in order to reduce the severity of the condition. When this happens, it is usually because the pediatrician suspects that the condition will clear as the baby gets older. Some of the common treatments offered by the doctors include antacids, which neutralizes the acid contained in the baby’s stomach, Acid suppressors, which suppress the rate of acid production in the stomach and acid blockers. These block acid production in the baby’s stomach.

Infant Portraits – Take Your Baby Photos Before it’s Too Late

When to Take Infant Portraits

When your baby is young, you should go out for infant portraits at least a few times during the first year. Also, you should make sure you take lots of baby pictures yourself because they are going to change very rapidly. Babies can change almost daily, and you never want to forget one precious moment of this time. You can go out and get ordinary baby photos that you can get anywhere, or you can get your infant portraits done with someone special for pictures that will tug at your heartstrings for a long time to come.

How Will You Take Your Infant Portraits

Many infant portraits taken very early in life are limited because babies can not do much. Some of these are done with a sleeping baby. That does not mean these will not be great infant pictures, and in fact, they can be some of the best you ever have taken of your baby. If you feel comfortable with nude shots, these are great as well. A good baby photographer taking your infant portraits will know how to make these acceptable without showing what should remain hidden.

Babies can be prone to illness, so if your doctor tells you that taking them out right away is not a great idea, you may want to listen. Babies born prematurely or with other medical problems may have to stay home for a while. However, in any other case, get them out as soon as you feel comfortable doing so to get infant portraits done. Babies photos during the first few months of life are the most prized later on in life. They are only that small for such a short period of time.

Older babies can sit up and can smile. Be prepared during this age to be there for a while when you go for your infant portraits. It could take a while to get your baby to smile if he or she is picky about who or what makes them smile. You should take a few different outfits with you, not only so you can change for different looks, but also because things happen with babies and they could easily soil what you have on them when you leave the house. If they have a favorite toy, take that with you. It could help them to open up and smile away for the camera during the babies portraits.

Where to Take Infant Portraits

Finally, as you look around on where to take your infant portraits, you may want to look at different portrait studios online to see what they have to offer in the way of infant photos, backgrounds and even props. You will see if you like what someone has to offer almost right away. Hopefully, you will have at least three different baby photographers nearby, so choose the one that has the look you feel best fits your baby and your personality. Don’t forget to ask for specific things that you want, and see how a few of your favorite shots look in black and white or sepia tone. They can make a good baby picture look even better. Also, don’t forget to order enough infant portraits for all your friends and family.
